Programmes

  • On May 22, 2012 our Yakshagana troupe participated in Yakshagana competition organized by Sonda Swarnavalli Mutt at Sirsi and bagged third place for its wonderful performance. 
  • Mr. Prakash Wodeyar, Professor from JNNCE, Shimoga addressed the primary students on environmental issues on 5th June, 2012. 
  • On 30th june, 2012 Vanamahotsava was held under the leadership of Swan and Man, an NGO which exclusively works on environmental related issues. Dr. Ravishankar, DCF, Sagar inaugurated by planting the saplings. Mr.Puttaswamy Gowda, the senior advocate of Sagar was the Chief guest. He shared his childhood experiences and asked the students to make their student life a meaningful one. The local Naati Vaidyas – Mrs. Gangabhavanamma, Mavinasara, Mr. Ramesh, Kodluthota, Mr.Anantaramu, Haregoppa, Mr. Subba Rao, Aneguli and Mr. Balachandra Rao Nadig, Magadi – were felicitated for their service lent to the rural people . All the invitees, guests, teachers, students planted saplings and the students took an oath to take care of every plant.
  • On 14th July 2012 “Sammilana” was held. It was a special day not only for our students but also for Alumnus and Alumna of our school. It is a platform given to the old students to meet their friends and share their ideas with the juniors. The programme got its colour with the guests like Dr.Niranjana Vanalli, Professor, Dept. of Journalism, Mysore University and Dr.Ashok Revankar, principal, Indira Gandhi First Grade Women’s College , Sagar. Dr.Vanalli addressed the gathering on “Proficiency Development” for 45 minutes. The first batch students were honoured. It was followed by a gorgeous feast in the dining hall where the teachers served food for the students.
  • On August 15th 2012, the flag was hoisted by Sri Sarjashankar Harlimat who is a writer and social activist from Shimoga. The formal programme of the Independence Day was followed by a Cartoon Workshop and Cartoon Exhibition. Six state level cartoonists – Sri S.V.Padmanabha, Sri Gujjarappa, Sri Naganath, Sri Nataraj Ararlasuruli, Sri Ramadhyani and Sri G M Bommanahalli – spent their valuable time with our children making the day really meaningful. The very word ‘creativity’ was being tested by the resource persons and the students. Their mutual interaction resulted in the production of wonderful cartoons.
    In the afternoon, there was a workshop organized for the public and for the college students on the scope and development of cartoons.
  • On September 1 st 2012, a magic show was presented by Sri Kudroli Ganesh on “Magic for Education”. It was a very educative programme.
  • The Taluk Level P U College Sports Meet was held in our campus in the month of September, 2012. It was an event of great success where the students of all the PU Colleges of Sagar taluk participated in different events. Nearly more than 200 students participated in different events.
  • Smt. Mahalakshmamma, Chipli was the Chief guest for Sri Krishna Janmashtami held on 9th September, 2012 where there was beautiful show of Radha and Krishna by the tiny tots.
  • On December 9,2012, there was District Level Volleyball Tournament organized in the memory of the founder secretary Late Sri K.G.Ravindra, for under 17 & 19 boys category and open for women. Totally 30 teams participated in the event. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Radhakrishna Bengre, President of Sagar Municipal Corporation. Vedabrahma Sheshagiri Bhat, the Pradhana Archaka of Sigandureshwari Temple graced the Valedictory function. Under 19 boys category the boys volleyball team of N E S Jr. College, Shimoga bagged the first place and under 17 boys category the Byari School team from Kundapur taluk secured the first place. The host school girls’ volleyball team won the first place in women’s category.
  • Prize Distribution Day was graced by Dr.M.K.Bhat from Sorab. All the prizes related to different competitions of culture and sports were distributed by the Chief guest.
  • Hongiranotsava was held from 27th to 30th December, 2012 with a great success.
  • After the flag hoisting ceremony on 26th January, 2013, there was a symposium organized on the views of Swamy Vivekananda on education and life values. The students from 6th to I PUC presented papers on the topic in groups. The morning session was moderated by Dr. Sarfraj Chandragutti, Lecturer from Govt. Jr. College, Sagar. The session in the afternoon was moderated by Dr. Basavaraja Nellisara, HOD of Kannada Dept. Kuvempu University.
